We are delighted to be welcoming Leigh Eisler to our growing staff team! Leigh is our new Highlands and Islands Enterprise Graduate Placement and will be with us for a year.
Graduate Placements are 75% funded by HIE with the aim of giving graduates experience that will help them into permanent employment, while supporting businesses to develop. As our Aird Fada Project Officer, Leigh will be working full time, focusing on the desk-based aspects of Aird Fada Seaweed Farm. The role will be instrumental in recording and monitoring the first year of activity while researching future markets, infrastructure developments and grant funding.
Farmed seaweed grows from seeds, embedded in lines that are attached to a permanent rope structure. Our seeded lines were laid in October and we are hoping for a good growing season before harvest time in the spring!
