Grant for Community Garden

21/01/2021

After many hours of hard labour the Ross of Mull Community Garden site is ready for the next phase – preparing for the growing season! Thanks to an award of nearly £4000 from the Scottish Government’s Community Climate Asset Fund (CCAF) | Keep Scotland Beautiful we are able to purchase timber for raised beds and compost bins, sheds, a seating area, tools and a pallet of compost.  The award is given to projects that aim to reduce local carbon emissions. By providing a space to grow vegetables and fruit the garden will be a source of fresh produce for local people and thus reduce food miles. It will also create learning opportunities to enable people to grow more in their own gardens.

We are also fundraising for a polytunnel. Check out our crowdfunder if you would like to make a donation!
