Creel of Stories Online Premiere Invitation

11/11/2022

The moment you have all been waiting for! In collaboration with Alasdair Satchel (Struthach Films and What We Do in the Winter), we are delighted to invite everyone and anyone to the online premiere of our film, Cliabh an t-Seanachais - the Creel of Stories - on Friday 25th November at 7.30pm.

The film, created for and funded by Visit Scotland's Year of Stories 2022, celebrates the local fishing industry, past and present. From salmon fishing at Carsaig and Camas, to the enduring creel fishing trade that continues to support individuals and families, the story is told by those involved. Children from Bunessan and Iona Primary Schools - our future generation - also have a starring role. (Original music by Hannah Fisher, Sorren Maclean and Lomond Campbell)

Below is a link to a trailer to whet your appetite!

The online premiere will be hosted on the What We Do in the Winter Youtube channel and the film will be available afterwards to be viewed there and on the SWMID Youtube channel whenever you like! After the film there will be a Zoom discussion at 8.15pm about the history of fishing and our island communities which you're more than welcome to join. (See below for links to both)

We hope you are as excited as we are!

This event has been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players.
