We are very excited about our upcoming film premiere at Creich Hall on Saturday 23rd July at 7pm!
Cliabh an t-Seanachais - the Creel of Stories, created in collaboration with Alasdair Satchel of Struthach Films, celebrates the local fishing industry, past and present. From salmon fishing at Carsaig and Camas, to the enduring creel fishing trade that continues to support individuals and families, the story is told by those involved. Children from Bunessan and Iona Primary Schools are also playing their part.
Doors open at 7 with prosecco and a delicious selection of locally sourced nibbles. The film will play at 7.30 followed by music with Hannah Fisher and Sorren Maclean and the first ever pop-up Community Cafe!
Iona boat taxi available for the return journey. Contact Finlay MacDonald.
Community transport available from Fionnphort Pier, Bunessan or anywhere else that it is needed! Please contact Terry Hegarty (01681 700600/ transport@romicts.org.uk) - minimum of 48 hours' notice is required.
All are very welcome to attend and the event is free, but we do need to know who is coming. Due to the significant rises in Covid cases locally, numbers may be restricted to allow for social distancing. Please RSVP ASAP to admin@swmid.co.uk to add your name/s to the guest list!
This event has been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players. We are also grateful to Scottish Sea Farms for their support.
