It was a joy to see TSL Contractors arrive on site at Bendoran to begin the initial groundworks that we need to make the site safer and more fit-for-purpose.
Funded by a generous grant from the Scottish Government's Islands Green Recovery Fund, the groundworks include the creation of car parking spaces, both at the top of the site and beside the slipway; the demolition and levelling of the derelict building; new drainage to improve the site; resurfacing of the track; improvements to the slipway; and the creation of hard standing for buildings relating to Aird Fada seaweed farm and watersports activities.
