The Ross of Mull Community Garden grew out of the community’s desire to improve our village spaces, reduce food miles while increasing local food resilience, and create a place for people to meet and work together.
Located in the grounds of the Ross of Mull Historical Centre in Bunessan, site clearing began in August 2020 with volunteers of all ages, including local school children, taking their turn to clear willow shrubs and brambles, and plant beautiful natural hedges and fruit cordons.
Next steps include building raised beds and filling them with compost, erecting a shed and raising funds for a polytunnel. All donations for this will be gratefully received – click below for a link to our
If you are interested in volunteering in the garden, please get in touch with Philip, our community forester at email@example.com
With grateful thanks to Argyll and Bute Council’s Supporting Communities Fund 2020/2021 and the Scottish Government’s Community Climate Asset Fund.
