In Gaelic “Fèis” means festival or feast, but also refers to the community-based Gaelic arts tuition festivals which take place all over Scotland every year. Supported by Fèisean nan Gàidheal, these events help to keep traditional Gaelic arts alive.

Fèis Mhuile was revived in Bunessan in 2015, with the support of SWMID, in response to the priorities identified in the Ross of Mull and Iona Community Plan.

The Fèis has taken place in Bunessan every year since, providing tuition for the children of Mull and Iona in traditional song, dance, drama, and music and celebrating our area’s culture, heritage, and community. The support from those who have attended classes and volunteered their time has been incredible.

If you are interested in helping to organise next year’s event, please contact Morven Gibson, General Manager, (01681 708000 or mgibson@swmid.co.uk) or find Fèis Mhuile on Facebook.
